Disability Rights Commissioner Paula Tesoriero is stepping in as acting head of the commission until new people are appointed.

"We think it was needed that there was a shake up and we're looking forward to working with the Acting Commissioner and the Chief Executive to try to improve the workplace culture at the commission on behalf of our members."

Polaczuk says it's appalling an agency promoting human rights has been treating its staff in this way.

"We're looking forward to a better dialogue with the Chief Executive, a culture where people will raise issue, where wrongdoing won't occur, where people will be respected, and where sexual harassment won't be tolerated."
