More money this year for sexual violence prevention, but one doctor says it's just a drop in the bucket.
On top of a new support package for abuse survivors, ACC is increasing prevention funding from $1 million to $4 million.
Rape Prevention Education boss Kim McGregor is welcoming the increase, but is calling for more.
She says her organisation provides its BodySafe programme to 20 of Auckland's 120 high schools - it would need $4 million to service them all.
"So if you were to provide universal sexual violence prevention education to young people throughout New Zealand, you'd probably need at least $20 million a year."
Kim McGregor is calling on the Government to make this investment, saying every dollar spent on prevention saves harm and costs down the line.
