The woman who brought the euthanasia debate back to the forefront of New Zealand public life will be laid to rest today.
Lecretia Seales' funeral will be held this afternoon at Old St Paul's in Wellington.
Seales lost her battle to brain cancer early last Friday morning - just hours after receiving a court decision for her landmark fight for the right to an assisted death.
She lost the case. Justice David Collins saying parliament needs to change legislation before that could happen.
Lecretia Seales' death lead to an outpouring of love and support for her and her family - with friends and strangers alike saying she was courageous, heroic, and an inspiration.
