UPDATED 8.06pm More than 100 people have turned up to the Dance-O-Mat in Christchurch, to pay their respect for those who died in the mass shooting in Orlando.
The local pride organisation is holding a candlelit vigil there.
Charlotte Greenhalgh reports there'll be a moment's silence, before a dance tribute to the dead.
"For many young gay people going to the club for the first time was a pivotal moment of coming out for them so they're reclaiming their space and dancing for those that lost their lives in Orlando."

Human Rights Commissioner Richard Tankersley told the crowd the shooting was a crime of hate.
"An extremist crime designed to get decent people who don't know each other so well, to hate each other, to hurt each and to cut each other off."

Organiser Sara Epperson said she didn't expect so many people with glowsticks, a bagpipe, candles and rainbow banners to come out on a midweek winter night.
"It would've been great if it was me and five of my mates, but for so many other people in the city wanting to take part in grieving together and reclaiming our space is amazing."
