There are calls for a trial aimed at harnessing domestic violence to be extended.
The Integrated Safety Response Pilot has been running in Christchurch and Waikato since July, and the government says it has helped 24,000 people.
Social Development Minister Anne Tolley said she expects the programme to replace existing models of inter-Government agency family violence response.
The pilot allows social organisations to create a specific family safety plan, that include reporting incidences of violence in the home.
Aviva Chief Executive Nicola Woodward said the trial needs to be extended beyond June 30 end date, so its true benefits can be uncovered.
Ms Woodward said they need "more time to gather more data and listen to more stories about the difference the pilot has made in people's lives".
"We have an opportunity with the pilot to really identify how many staff with what skills we need to provide the best possible support for families."
During the pilot, 776 cases of family violence were reported per month in Christchurch and more than 8000 safety plans created.
