There are fresh calls for a commuter rail service between Hamilton and Auckland.
Hamilton-based Labour MP Sue Moroney pushed the idea in a submission on Waikato Regional Council's draft transport plan.
She says a report commissioned in 2011 shows it's a viable option.
"This is a very affordable and cost effective service that already has a willing patronage in Hamilton, that is only going to improve."
