A runaway truck with brake failure has rolled backwards down Auckland's main street, Queen St, ploughing into a van.
A Fire Service spokesman said the truck lost power in its brakes going up the steep street at about 11.30am only stopping when it crashed into a van at Airedale St near Aotea Square.
All emergency services are now at the crash scene.
