UPDATED 4.40pm There were tears in the High Court trial of Russell James Tully today.

The 49 year old is charged with the murder of Ashburton Work and Income staff Peggy Noble and Leigh Cleveland, as well as the attempted murder of Lindy Curtis and Kim Adams.

Ms Adams has been called as a witness in the trial, and broke down as she recounted what she saw on September 1st, 2014.

"As I've gone through I've turned and looked back into the office, and seen the gunman moving down the office firing."

Kim Adams said when she then turned to run, she felt something fly past her face, which is now thought to have been a bullet.

The security guard who was working at the WINZ office the day of the double shooting has also given evidence in the High Court.

Neville Tahere told the court he left the office after seeing a gunman in a balaclava enter and fire shots at the receptionist and other staff.

When the gunman left the scene, Mr Tahere was one of the first to re-enter the office.

"When I entered the foyer, I could here Lindy yelling about her leg," he said.

Lindy Curtis was shot in the leg by the gunman but survived, she’s also due to give evidence at the trial.

Russell Tully was once again removed from his own trial this morning because of constant interruptions.

He was removed from the trial on Thursday after less than a minute, but this morning lasted about three.

Today he stood in the dock and repetitively accused Justice Cameron Mander of "trial-fixing".

Tully asked to "go see a doctor", saying he'd been asking for one for six months. He went on to claim he had been on a hunger strike for two weeks.

Justice Mander asked the jury members to once again wipe the incident from their memories.

The trial is proceeding without Tully.
