Auckland Council's governing body meets today for an administrative vote on the council's ten-year plan.
The plan is a budget for 2015 to 2025. It will increase overall rates by 2.5 percent next financial year, and 3.5 percent every year after that.
It will also introduce new levies for the Auckland Transport Plan - $114 for households and $183 for businesses.
The budget will change lots of things - lots council fees will be a bit more expensive and the City Rail Link will go ahead on borrowed funds.
Decisions will also be made on:
- Holding a referendum on motorway tolls
- Extending the Rates Remission Scheme to the transport levies and UAGC of retirement villages and Maori social housing
- Adopting the Maunga authority operational plan
- Reviewing water and wastewater bylaws
- Passing a new traffic bylaw for parking on council land.
- Giving Auckland Transport control of parking currently controlled by Auckland Council
