It may not be properly open yet, but Auckland's temporary container village is expecting plenty of visitors this weekend. Â
The village will house a mix of food and beverage providers and is expected to be on Queens Wharf for three years. Â
One of Auckland's longest running mobile food businesses, the White Lady, was the first to move into the village. Â Queens Wharf manager Connie Clarkson said the rest of the tenants will be moving in during the next two or three weeks, ready in time for a proper opening.
Despite this she said the village will still be packed with visitors this weekend.
"The White Lady will be here, plenty of picnic tables, plenty of chairs for the public to come and take advantage of."
Clarkson said it's going to be a busy baptism for the village.
"We're right in the middle of ferry's, buses, trains and cruise ships so there would be no lack of people coming through the village I'd imagine."
